Bio

Slouch (Ian Bradley) moved to Brooklyn in 2006 and immediately began tackling New York’s electronic scene. His unclassifiable style of beatmaking has ranged from electro-funk to shadow-esque classic hip hop to cinematic chillout, and is still evolving. After founding the Powerstrip Circus collective in 2008 with fellow Willamsburg artist KRTS, he began throwing some of NYC’s best electronic dance parties, featuring the brightest of the city’s up and coming producers and innovators.

Slouch got his start in production while attending school for design in Providence, RI. He picked up his first copy of Reason and an M-Audio keyboard, setting up his first studio and making throwaway beats for local student hip hop acts. Slowly, crafted by the influence of NinjaTune artists such as Bonobo, Prefuse 73, Blockhead and others, Slouch’s early down-tempo sound began to fill out and settle into its own. After arriving in New York, he began slowly crafting a more big beat, dance-oriented style. After going solo in 2007, he self-released ‘Labor’ and ‘Travels’ in 2008. He is currently working on new releases with Bass Fueled Mischief, New York’s premier dubstep collective, while developing new line-ups for 2010.

His design work can be found at NGF Studios.
